When this type of thing happens it is not easy to find a solution. We can not just grow more land especially with Japan being an island country. Land scarcity can be seen in many places all over the world, but Japan I think takes the cake. In Japan there is a population of 127.3 million (2013). The total land of Japan is 145,925 square miles. To try to solve this problem the japanese government built public housing building which are nice, but also practical. Some of these buildings are so close to major attractions that real estate developers want to use them for something else. That will be another problem the Japanese Government will face.

- Solution 1 - Continue the public housing program.
- Solution 1 solves the land issue for now.
- Solution 2 - Build skyscrapers that are devoted to the public housing program.
- Solution 2 solves this problem and also the problems that may come up in the future. The problem with this is the cost of building everything.
- Solution 3 - Discontinue the public housing program.
- Solution 3 does not solve the land problem at all, and makes it worse from the citizens.
